Dimos
Malkoff
Born in 1973 (Uzbekistan)
Dimos Malkoff began drawing at the age of twenty five, suddenly
displaying a phenomenal artistic acumen straight after a sudden death
of his farther, a famous artist from Bukhara.
During his
childhood, Dimos was apprenticed by his farther Firs Malkoff, but never
planned to choose an artist career. My farther gave
me my first lessons in understanding art, says
the artist, but never insisted on my artist profession. Dimos
experimented with
several arts like music and film script and later began painting in
oils, studying American Action Painting,
Russian Avant-garde and European Art Union Cobra, what appeal to him
mostly. He began entering his paintings in art
exhibitions in Bukhara and started his professional career
as an artist, publishing his work and receiving commissions from
his friends, relatives and later studios of British Council Uzbekistan,
Swiss Development Fund and numerous private
collectors. Dimos also
exhibited his work in galleries and museums throughout the country and
participated in his first international exhibition in St.Moriz,
Switzerland, in January 2006,
what brought him even wider recognition. Many of his
paintings can be found in the private collections around the world.
Dimos' motto: The Sun
shines to all!
